This is so funny, and all too familiar. I have a 20 month old, and it still amazes me sometimes the odd and random things he does for no apparent reason. I love it when I tell my son "noooo.. we don't throw our food on the floor.. or jab the fork into the table.. noooooo" He looks straight at me, drops his food and then throws the fork at me! Really? Thanks for stopping by my blog. I work with child care providers, so I'll have to remember this idea. I have mixed feelings about it though. It certainly got your attention, but I'm not sure I like the idea of providers using children's diapers as post-it notes!

Confused homemaker: Exactly, we're all doing our best. I find women are the harshest critic of other women. In grad school, there was one particular female professor that was particularly judgemental of the female grad students with kids... you couldn't win either way... you come back early and you're a terrible mom for not being home with your baby... you stay home and you're a bad researcher and you're neglecting your work!

Anti-Supermom: I completely agree! It is easier for people to make inflammatory comments when they know they won't see someone face-to-face.

Agreed it's difficult no matter how one navigates motherhood. I often find myself feeling in between worlds because on hand I work but on the other my work is not the traditional professional 9-5 so I am home more. But I don't really fit either category & I'm not a true work at home mother either. Instead I'm just a mom trying to do her best, like EVERY OTHER MOM in the universe.
